Why is fat OK to eat?

We need fat for all the cells in our bodies. Without the fat that our bodies need, we will suffer from all kinds of health complaints from minor ones, such as dry skin, to major ones such as strokes or stunted growth. Fat has got its bad reputation from the calorie myth (amongst other myths), in that people think if fat has nine calories per gram and carbohydrate has four calories per gram then we are better off eating carbohydrate.
