Was red meat found not-guilty?

On 28th November 2016, this article, “In Defence of Red Meat”, suggested that you should: “Ask for a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials studying red meat consumption (let alone grass fed) – there isn’t one.” Then, in the December 2016 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, this appeared: “Total red meat intake of ≥0.5 servings/d does not negatively influence cardiovascular disease risk factors: a systemically searched meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials”.

Does this mean that we now have a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials for red meat and human health? The answer is still no and I’ll explain why...
