Hi Zoe, I have just read The Obesity Epidemic and most of the way through Why Do You Overeat. In WDYO, I am sure I read that you should not eat protein and carbs together because one produces acid digestive juices and the other alkaline. As a result, one cancels the other and food is not digested. This confuses me greatly, because what happens to the food - it must be digested, it cant just stay there in the body? I dont understand this because everyone eats carbs & proteins together - unless they are following a diet plan of some sort. Can you explain this to me?
